Job Description
SCM YUGA is looking for a detail-oriented Junior QA Tester to join our Agile product team in Bangalore on a hybrid basis. You will manually test modern web applications built on the PERN stack (PostgreSQL, Express.js, React.js, Node.js), write clear test documentation, track bugs, and validate releases. This is a hands-on entry-level role, perfect for a fresh graduate or career-starter who wants real enterprise QA experience. You will work directly with developers, product managers, and QA leads from day one.
Qualifications & skills
- 0–1 year of experience in software testing or QA (freshers welcome)
- Basic understanding of SDLC, STLC, and software testing concepts
- Familiarity with web application testing fundamentals
- Understanding of REST APIs and JSON responses
- Basic SQL/database knowledge (PostgreSQL preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and documentation quality
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Comfortable working in a collaborative Agile team environment
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Manually test PERN stack web apps across desktop and mobile browsers
- Execute regression, functional, and integration tests for new and existing features
- Write and maintain test cases, test plans, and UAT documents
- Create feature documentation with screenshots and release validation checklists
- Validate user stories against acceptance criteria before each release
- Log bugs with clear reproduction steps, severity classification, and screenshots
- Retest developer fixes and verify issue resolution
- Participate in Agile sprints — planning, standups, reviews, and backlog grooming
- Maintain regression suites and QA documentation repositories
- Support release validation and customer-facing documentation activities
- Learn and contribute to automation testing using tools like Playwright or Cypress
Education and Certifications
- Degree in B.E / B.Tech / BCA / MCA / BSc CS / IT or related field
- QA internship or project experience is a plus.
